Position Summary

Responsible for fulfilling customer requirements by completing the necessary job duties.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows the requirements listed on the pick sheet
  • Locates and pulls required components and records all lot codes on pick sheet
  • Assembles raw components into finished goods
  • Stamps keys and makes adjustments on various stamping machines as necessary
  • Cuts keys using various key cutting machines
  • Performs functional quality inspections for in process materials
  • Verifies finished product using the sample bag
  • Completes the required quality inspection sheet
  • Notifies concerns to Team Leader and or Production Manager
  • Communicates relevant information to other members of the team
  • Performs any necessary change over on machinery

  • Supervises: None
  • Scope of work relationship: This position requires a high level of accuracy to ensure a quality, error free product. In addition, this position also requires strong communication skills with co-workers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Must complete VSI’s Understanding ISO/TS 16949:2009 training
  • Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: None


  • Ability to operate various shop and computer equipment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks & prioritize efficiently

Working Conditions

Job Conditions/Work Location: Work is performed in an office & shop environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move about the office and shop
  • Ability to operate various shop and office equipment
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to access any necessary product and move about to retrieve product
  • Ability to maintain visual & mental concentration for long periods of time to
    perform duties

Equipment used but not limited to:

  • Computer
  • Copiers, printers, scanners and fax machines, telephones and calculators
  • Key cutters, stampers and capping presses
  • Bagger
  • Hand tools
  • Other equipment needed to perform daily tasks
