Position Summary

Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, trouble-shooting, repair and operation of all production equipment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Calibrates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs all shop equipment, supervises any work of subordinates, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Develops schedules, troubleshoots and conducts preventive maintenance programs of production and other shop equipment
  • Develops and maintains calibration schedules and preventative maintenance logs for all applicable tools and equipment
  • Performs equipment repair directly or by scheduling and managing outside service providers
  • Rebuilds existing equipment as necessary
  • Works closely with production to support all assembly floor operations
  • Performs any work or repair on production electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Works closely with purchasing for the acquisition of parts, supplies, tools and equipment
  • Documents procedures and instructions for processes in the departments for which he/she is responsible, or by directing the work of subordinates

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  • Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
  • Spends time in both the shop and office working in other functional areas to gain better understanding of the systems and processes of the company

    • Manufacturing Engineer
  • Supervises: None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Education/Training:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2-year degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience in an appropriate field
  • Experience:  Background in maintenance

  • Ability to operate computers and other office equipment
  • Good telephone etiquette

Working Conditions

  • Work location: Work is performed in an office & shop environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move about the office & shop
  • Ability to operate various shop & office equipment
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Office equipment (calculator, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, etc.)
